Fear or Love The Choice is Yours

Everyday we wake up and have a choice, fear or love. Navigating day by day through the COVID-19 pandemic has taught me this. I used to wake up with a heaviness in my chest, heart pounding, and filled with anxiety, until I realized that I had a choice. It is our decision in what we want to experience each and every day, how we want to embrace the world and what we want to contribute.

Too many times we let our family members, friends, and the media dictate how we should feel. And each and every one of us needs to make the decision in how our day plays out. Some days it might be as simple as going for a walk instead of sitting down to watch a show. This is not to say that every day will be a good one, I still struggle with the fear and anxiety this virus has caused. But I know now that I have a choice, some sort of control over my own life, which helps to reduce the fear.

We’ve been given such a wonderful opportunity, the gift of time. Time to slow down, to reconnect with nature, to be grateful for everything that we have, time to go inward and heal. As much as we are coming together as a community, we are also being asked to go within. To connect to our shadow selves, and heal. Pay attention to what comes up for you right now, who and what you are triggered by? Where is the fear coming from? and begin to work on these areas. Start to ask yourself, What are you passionate about? What kind of life do you want to create for yourself and those closest to you? We are being given the time to re-evaluate and make the necessary changes to create a life we are excited about. This is the first step of stepping out of fear. Start to train your mind to think differently, focus on what you are grateful for and stay present in the moment. Directing your attention on the future and all of its uncertainties can create anxiety. Live moment to moment, second by second if you need to. Tap in to how you are feeling on a regular basis during your day and make adjustments from there. Pull yourself back into your heart space if you are feeling fear, and raise your vibration by doing something you love, listen to music, write in a journal, be creative whatever feeds your soul. And remember when you wake up in the morning that you can make that conscious choice, fear or love.
